Day Thirty-Three: Love Made Perfect
1 John 4:17, “And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.”
This verse is one major reason why we long to keep our relationship and love for God strong. It is packed with spiritual truth and principles. Reading God’s Word, praying, seeking God through fasting, faithful to worship, serving in ministry, giving to God’s ministry, taking inventory of our attitude and behaviors to ensure we are producing the fruit of the Spirit; all of these things are only a few examples of living in God. Living in God is to not only have a desire to be in God’s presence, but to love the things and people He loves.
Hear God’s heartbeat of love.
First observation from this scripture; we realize our love can grow into perfection. If you feel like you are not able to love like Christ would love, make an effort to come closer to God. If you sense you are being tempted to live a selfish life, come closer to the heart of God. We cannot afford to let our love be exhausted or limited. This will require us to draw from God’s love.
The closer you draw near to God the more you can hear and feel His heartbeat. God’s heart overflows with love. Spend time with Him and you will be a better lover.
